Apple

So, going for something a little different this time. I really like still lifes; the detail you can get on a carefully shot still life is unparalleled by anything you can find with shots of people. So, for today, we have a red apple.

In an attempt to have this updated more frequently, I have taken up the duties of writing. The hardest part, it seems, is choosing photos to display.

In a break from tradition, I am going to allow myself a moment of pride. This photo was actually shot by me, not by my father like the others. I think it reflects an amusing aspect of religion.

As a side note, I have also decided to change the blog layout in an attempt to make life a little easier.

Fishing

My son is going to sell his fish and wanted me to photograph them, so I set up my camera and took a few photos of them. This is a 100 Gallon tank and the plecostomus' (The two separate fish in the photographs) are about 10 and 12 inches long. The two large fish are Pacu are about 13 and 15 inches long and about 8 inches tall. These are BIG fish. Note that the large Goldfish above the one Pacu is almost 5 inches long!

Funstuff

My wife, Lynn, had me take a couple pictures of things she has done. The first is a bag she made for the nursery at church for tomorrow (Valentines Day). The second is a Dragonfly that she changed from a pin to a necklace.

Photographing a Model

This last Saturday, Wasatch Photographic sponsored a "session with a model". Bailey was able to pose for five of us photographers for almost three hours.

Gary Blair taught us the posing and how to interact with the model. I really enjoyed watching him work. There is no question but what he is a professional. He was able to work with her in very subtle ways and then let us photograph her.

These are two of the photographs that I liked the most of those that I took.

Framed Butterfly

I have started a new storefront. You can find it at livinglovephotos.etsy.com

I have always loved this butterfly and I really like how this frame enhances the colors of the little guy. I think it helps to bring it alive.
