Apple

So, going for something a little different this time. I really like still lifes; the detail you can get on a carefully shot still life is unparalleled by anything you can find with shots of people. So, for today, we have a red apple.

Dracaena in Flower

My son owns a Dracaena which he has kept in his room. The plant stands about six feet tall. It just started blooming and smells wonderful. Actually is is a little overwhelming at night when it gets most fragrant.

Monkey Portrait

My wife and I took our two granddaughters to the Hogle Zoo. We saw this monkey and he was posing so nicely. I just like the way he is looking here.

Running Away

Camping and fishing near Tooele gives many opportunities for fun in the wilds--but not too wild for children. This little boy loves getting out of the city!

Goose with Seagull Flock

I thought this was humorous with the single goose among all the seagulls. (This photograph is also popular on the "Capture my Utah" competition. )

Rose

Again, another view of contrasts. The rose is in almost total silhouette against the blinds.

Thistles

I enjoy seeing contrasts and this thistle provides just that. There is the darkness of the thistles and the grays and whites of the sky. It gives me a foreboding type of feeling.

Moon

I love looking at the Moon and the stars. This photograph of the moon was taken about a month ago.

Cloud of Smoke

I looked out the side of the house and saw this huge cloud of smoke that was obscuring the sun. I grabbed my camera and took a few photographs. I like the colors, from the deep blue to the bright yellow right next to the sun.

White Pansy

I really like the water on this Pansy. It just seems to bring it to life.

Betta in a Bowl of Light

The colors in this fishbowl are wonderful! He is blue, red and orange. The blinds provide lines of texture. The shells and glass stones finish the color menagerie.

Tulips and Daffodils at the Manti Temple

The Manti Temple has that "old world" flavor to me. It offers so many colors and hues.

Scared of the Rocks

The rocks were big and they went down very quickly. The little girl was petrified and did not want to move. The little boy climbed all over the rocks. This is a fun picture of emotions.

Jellyfish

These Jellyfish were at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California. I loved the colors and the looks of these dangerous creatures of the deep.

Bird of Paradise

This Bird of Paradise was "born" in Oakland, California at the Oakland Temple. I think this is a beautiful flower. It reminds me of the head of a Peacock.

Donut Falls in the Fall

I love to go up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Donut Falls. There is always a bunch of good things to photograph up there.

Couple in Garden at Temple Square

I love the garden between the Salt Lake Temple and its Annex. It is awesome. This couple was wonderful to work with.

Thomas, the Cat

Thomas was my Mom's big cat. He loved to sit on the wooden porch and look out into the field behind the house.

Fall Colors

Usually when you see the colors of fall, you back up and get all the colors from all the trees. I love this photograph because all the fall colors are throughout this one leaf.

Butterfly

This butterfly was flitting from point to point on this huge rock up in one of the canyons above Salt Lake City. I love this photograph.
