Angel Moroni on Oquirrh Mountain Temple

On June 14th a storm went through the valley and a lightning strike darkened the horn, arm and face of Moroni. This last Tuesday the LDS Church replaced this Angel Moroni with a new one. The Oquirrh Mountain Temple (South Jordan, Utah) will be dedicated at the end of the month and so the church replaced Moroni for a new version that has TWO lightning rods in him, one at the end of the trumpet and one out the top of his head.

I love the beauty of this Temple. The trees and the shrubs are new but are beginning to fill in.

I woke up this morning at about 5:00 and drove to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple and photographed it as the sun came up. I really enjoyed taking the photograph and watching the beauty of God's hand.
